The Elf Bar EW Smart Battery is the rechargeable battery half of Elf Bar’s EW prefilled pod system, sold on its own at R179. It takes both the EW9000 and EW18000 prefilled pods, so one battery covers the whole EW range. There is no nicotine in the battery itself; the strength comes from the pod you fit, and every EW pod on this site is 50mg/ml salt.
When to buy the battery alone
Most people get their first EW battery in an EW9000 kit (R299, which includes a pod). Buy the battery separately if you already have pods and have lost or worn out a battery, if you want a second battery so one can charge while the other is in use, or if you want to go straight to EW18000 pods, which are sold without a battery. At R179 it is a small outlay against the pods, which cost R200 or more each, so a spare is cheap insurance.
Colours and stock
Seven colours are catalogued at the same price: Purple, White, Blue, Pink, Yellow, Green and Orange. Stock is deep at the time of writing on most of them: Yellow 65, White 62, Orange 55, Green 26, Pink 20 and Purple 10. Blue is out of stock. Colour is cosmetic only; every battery is the same unit.
Practical notes
Charge over USB-C and do not leave the battery on charge overnight. Keep the pod contacts clean and dry. If a pod stops firing, check the contacts before assuming the battery has failed. Dispose of dead batteries through e-waste channels, not household rubbish.
